News and Announcements
Don’t forget that everyone needs to tryout next week!!! Girls tryouts are Thursday right after school and the boys will be Friday at 3:00 PM!! Can’t wait to get the season started!!!
Santiago Aquatics Family,
We have had a great start to our 2014-2015 aquatics season already!!! Right off the bat the boys polo program has shown why they are going to be one of the best teams in CIF!! They have carousel around the corner, which will help place them for the CIF tournament, so please come out and support our boys!!!! While the boys are competing at an elite level our girls polo program and swim teams are also hard at work with thoughts of CIF championships in mind. Our athletes have started training and are taking huge strides with practices in the pool and weight room.
As coaches we are extremely proud of our athletes and want to thank all the parents for their support as well. We have appreciated the support of all the families in this transition period for the program.
At this time we would like to inform all families that for the remainder of the year, the business side of the aquatics program will be running out of the ASB department on campus as the booster program will be under going retooling and restructuring. Tonight (October 21st) the current booster board is meeting to discuss the financial transition to the ASB account. The hope is that the boosters will return next year some time (2015-2016) once the restructuring is complete. We would like to give thanks to the current and past boosters who have put tremendous time and effort into this program over the years. Coach White, Coach Lee, and Santiago Administration will be available on Monday the 27th at 5:30 pm in the theater to take any questions or answer any concerns that you may have. Please know that this will not negatively affect our kids and we will still move forward with fundraising and supporting our program to the fullest. At a later point we will give everyone instructions on general business practices as we proceed.
Again we appreciate all the support given thus far and we look forward to continued support as our season’s progress.

Congratulations to Zach Dorrego, Bryan Smiley, Alek Walton, and Tanner Shore for becoming 2013 All Americans in the 200 Freestyle Relay. This means that they were in the top 100 (72nd) for this event in the Nation. Keep in mind that there are over 7,000 boys high school swim programs in the U.S. and this is the highest award swimmers can get in High School Swimming. Congrats and as coaches we are so proud of their hard work and this accomplishment!!! Way to go BOYS!!!!!!!!!
