Lady Titans LAX Family,

The 2015 Varsity and JV schedules are now available. I have updated the calendar in Teampages, and I have also attached a Word document showing the schedule as well. These schedules are pulled straight from our league’s website (www.kcgirlslax.com). Please note that Varsity games are listed as 7:00pm, but historically, the later of the two games usually start at 6:45pm. I will reach out to our scheduler to see if this was a mistake, or if they really want to have 30 mins between games…more to follow.

I have also volunteered our teams (both Varsity and JV) for additional games should other coaches wish to add more games onto their schedules as well. I will let everyone know if more games get added.

Does your daughter still need a physical? A current physical is required to participate in lacrosse this season. If a player does not have a current physical, there will be physicals given at LSWHS on 14 FEB or at LSN on 28 FEB. See the attached flyer for details.

Ok Folks, the Omaha trip will be here before we know it, so our hotel rooms have been reserved already. Here is the information. The contact person is Carol. Missy Lucas (Ellie’s Mom) booked the rooms for April 17th. She also blocked a few for the 18th just in case someone decides to stay longer. (Thank you so much, Missy)

Rooms have been blocked for April 17th. We got a group rate of $79/night plus tax, (savings of about $48), there is an option for a single king room and that rate is $72 plus tax.

30 rooms have been blocked to give us a little cushion in case some more players freed up their schedules. We only booked 28 last year. This information below is very important so will you please forward to everyone that is going.

We discussed this at the indoor session on 14 JAN, and there was a great amount of interest from the players to volunteer at Lakeland Church for Respite Care. What is Respite Care? Lakeland Church has this event every 4th Saturday of the month where they “care” for special needs children from 4:30pm – 8:00pm to give the parents of these special needs children an opportunity to have an “evening out”.
Lakeland Church approached me to ask if our players would be interested in participating in Respite Care this month, and hopefully in months moving forward. Due to the high level of interest from the players last night, I have committed to having team representation at least for this month. The January Respite Care event is 24 JAN 2015 from 4:30pm – 8:00pm at Lakeland Church.
Thank you to all the players who expressed interest…a volunteer spirit is a beautiful thing. Parents are welcome to volunteer as well.

Mark your calendars, LS West has committed to play in a “sticks-in” format scrimmage on March 1st, at 2pm and 3pm at Blue Valley NW High School (135th & Switzer). These scrimmages are used to train new (and returning) girl’s lacrosse referees for the upcoming season. I figured if there’s anything we can do to get better officiating for our games, I am willing to help.
