News and Announcements

Hello Lady Titan LAX Family,

Sorry for getting this email out so late today. I have been working all morning with LSW and with the other coaches on where we are having practices this week, and when…I will ask that we be flexible this week as we are contending with wet weather, and wet fields. All Spring sports want to use the gymnasiums, so we are just trying to get our time slots reserved just like everyone else. We will send out communications to the players via the team captains, so once a decision is made, the word should get out to everyone on the team at the player level.

Here’s what is going on this week (Subject to change)

Hello Lady Titan LAX Family,

I hope everyone enjoyed the warm weather last week, I know we did. The players had a wonderful first week of practice, and a great Varsity tryout. We named our Varsity squad last Thursday after practice, so now we get ready for our first game on 23 MARCH.

Here’s what is planned for this week:

Monday 15 MARCH 6pm – 7pm: Indoor practice at the aux gyms tonight. 30 mins for JV (6pm – 6:30pm) and 30 mins for Varsity (6:30pm – 7pm). This is an effort to keep the groups smaller in the confined indoor space much like we did for indoor at Lakeland. Also, PARENT MEETING at 7pm in the Field House.

Tuesday 16 MARCH 5pm – 7pm: Outdoor Practice at the turf field starts promptly at 5pm, so please make sure to arrive with enough time to put on your cleats and do some warmup partner passing.

Wednesday 17 MARCH 5pm – 7pm: I am still working with LSW on this. If we can secure Bateman Hall, we will do film study. (JV from 5-6, Varsity from 6-7pm.) If not, we may need to do indoor in the aux gym from 6pm – 8pm. I will make sure to communicate as it gets closer.

Thursday 18 MARCH 5pm – 7pm: I am still working with LSW on this. If we can secure Bateman Hall, we will do film study. (JV from 5-6, Varsity from 6-7pm.) If not, we may need to do indoor in the aux gym from 6pm – 8pm. I will make sure to communicate as it gets closer.

Friday 19 MARCH – No practice.

That’s it for now…it’s ugly at best, but the coaching staff is doing whatever we can to not cancel practice so we can continue to develop these players. Our first game is a week from tomorrow…so we have to prepare as best we can.

I hope to see y’all tonight! Bring a mask!

~Coach Jay

Happy Friday Lady Titan LAX Family,

I have attached the final schedule for this season, with the JV games added.

Also, please remember to mark your calendars for the Parent Meeting in the LSW Field House this upcoming Monday evening at 7pm. Please wear a mask. With the bleachers opened up, there should be plenty of space to keep socially distanced.

See you on Monday!

Lady Titan LAX Family,

Sorry for the extra email, but I wanted to let all parents know that I have reserved the LSW Field House (main gymnasium) for our annual parent meeting. With the bleachers fanned out, there should be more than enough room for parents to properly space themselves at least 6 feet apart for social distancing. LSW will set up a microphone and speaker so everyone will be able to hear. We will also be distributing handouts for you to reference during the meeting.

I want to use this time to give every parent important information on how the coaching staff is running the team, introduce the assistant coaches, discuss expectations for both players and parents, transportation policy for travel to home and away games, etc…

The coaching staff will also be available to answer any questions you may have concerning your daughter.

Please make every effort to attend as I won’t be able to swing a Zoom call for this.

~Coach Jay

Good Morning Lady Titan LAX Family,

After posting the schedule yesterday, I was contacted my several parents asking for our guidelines when it comes to attending games. The guidelines posted below are for Home Games as every school district has their own specific set of guidelines. I will say that basic social distancing and wearing a mask are the two most fundamental things you can do as spectators regardless of whether it’s a home game or an away game. Here are the guidelines posted by LSW:

ALL spectators will be expected to wear a mask and socially distance. If fans choose not to follow social distancing and mask expectations the following results may occur:
- Stoppage of play until guidelines are met with a possible forfeit result
- Removal from event and future events
- No spectators allowed at future events
Public health information is rapidly evolving, and it is important to remember that these guidelines will be updated as needed as we work closely with the Greater Kansas City Suburban Conference, local health officials, and our state activities association to prioritize health and safety.

LACROSSE
Varsity/JV
• All matches home and away are closed to the public
• Two spectators per participant, not to exceed 100 spectators per event
• Masks that cover the nose and mouth must be worn at all times by those in attendance
• Social distancing by player and fans
• No Concessions
• Fans will be asked to leave upon completion of their athlete’s match
• Away ticketing will be determined by the host school

For the first time in our 10 year history, we will not have the entire team (Varsity & JV) on-site cheering each other on. I know this puts a huge damper on our One Big Happy Family culture and I don’t like it at all, but it’s necessary for this season.

So, here’s what it should look like for our first game on 23 MARCH (and then all others for the remainder of the season):

- JV players arrive at 4:45pm to get ready and warm up.
- No more than 2 spectators per player should be in attendance
- All spectators will NEED to wear a mask.
- All players will NEED a mask, and wear it while warming up and while on the sideline. They can take the mask off during game play per the KC Metro League guidelines.
- All coaches and managers will NEED to wear a mask.
- JV plays at 5:30 – 6:30pm. At the end of the game, all JV players and parents will be asked to leave. Please clear the bleachers as quickly as you can to make room for the Varsity spectators.

- Varsity players arrive at 6:15pm to get ready and warm up. They will need to stay at the south end of the field until the bench area is cleared by the JV team.
- No more than 2 spectators per player should be in attendance. Spectators for the Varsity team should be mindful of the JV spectators leaving and wait until space opens in the bleachers before sitting down to maintain social distancing.
- All spectators will NEED to wear a mask.
- All players will NEED a mask, and wear it while warming up and while on the sideline. They can take the mask off during game play per the KC Metro League guidelines.
- All coaches and managers will NEED to wear a mask.
- Varsity plays at 7:00 – 8:00pm. At the end of the game, all Varsity players and parents will be asked to leave.

I hope this helps. I know it’s a lot, but it’s what we have to do to make sure our players actually have a season. I appreciate everyone’s flexibility and patience with this. Let’s all make sure we are doing our part and that we are all part of the solution, not the problem.

Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions.

~Coach Jay
