Lady Titan LAX Family,

In my weekly announcement on Monday, I had mentioned that we have a Referee Training Scrimmage game from 2-3pm. I actually got that time wrong, we actually have the 3pm – 4pm time slot. I would like for everyone to show up for the scrimmage so we can get a great full-field experience against another team. Here are the details:

When: Sunday 4 MARCH at 3-4pm (Please be on the field by 2:30 so we can warm up)
Where: Blue Valley NW High School (13260 Switzer Rd, Overland Park, KS 66213). Easiest route to get there is take 150 HWY into Kansas…which then turns into 135th St. The stadium will be about 1 mile west of 69 HWY. (Across 135th from the OP Soccer Complex)
Who: Every player on the team is invited to play. I need everyone to wear their practice pinney as our uniform.

This will be a scrimmage against Olathe Lacrosse club, and will be an opportunity for new lacrosse referees to learn how to officiate a game properly.

Hello Lady Titan Family,

Sorry I am a day late on getting the weekly email out to you. I wanted to wait until we had our first day of outdoor practice (and Day 1 of Varsity tryouts).

We had a great practice last night, and I am excited about our team this season. Putting together our Varsity roster is going to be difficult. We will announce the roster at the end of Thursday’s practice.

Here’s what’s on tap for the week:

Tuesday – Thursday: Practice from 5pm to dark (we may be conditioning in the dark)
Friday : no practice
Sunday: We are slated to play a scrimmage from 2-3pm at Blue Valley NW HS (135th & Switzer) at the football stadium. This scrimmage is to help train the new referees on how to properly call a lacrosse game while a live game is going on. We are slated to scrimmage Olathe. All players are welcome to play. I would especially love to see our new players come out to get some experience. With our game being at 2pm, please try to get to the field by 1:30pm so we can get stretched out and warmed up.

Houselkeeping:
- Every player needs to be registered on the KC Metro website. Please take care of this ASAP. Go to www.kcgirlslax.com click the “Register Now” button, and complete the registration to the LS West team. All players MUST be registered to be allowed to play in league games. By last count, we have 26 of 36 players registered. If you are part of the final 10, please knock this out.

The season is upon us….time to get on the roller coaster ride for the next 3 months. After several schedule changes, here’s the final schedule as it stands today (see attachment). Please make note of the times as there are some early starts at fields with no lights. We will discuss the schedule and transportation in more detail during next week’s parent meeting.

The season is upon us! We will have our annual parent meeting on Wednesday 7 MARCH at 6:30pm at LSW to discuss our upcoming season. We will be meeting at Mr. Rasdall’s classroom (Room 0184) in the lower level of the school. I have attached a map of what doors to enter to reach Mr. Rasdall’s room. This meeting is for parents only. If you have any questions for the coaching staff, this would be a perfect time to ask. See you soon!
