News and Announcements

We are still finalizing training times when the team is selected, however we are planning on having practices/classroom sessions Sunday evenings starting in early May and running until we leave for the competion in Estevan at the end of July (actually dates will depend on whether you are on the male or female team).  We will not be training on May Long weekend or July Long weekend.

We expect an 80% attendance commitment from all athletes in the program.

Through the gratious donations we have received from our sponsors there is no cost to this program for committed players.  We will however be asking for a post dated cheque for $50 as a "commiment bond" from all players on the training roster (top 25 players per team).  As long as the player maintains an attendence record of 80% or higher with ALL team functions (including team building, field training and classroom training) the cheque will be shredded after the competition.  If the players attendence drops below 80% the cheque will be cashed.

Players selected for the top 25 training roster will get an official 2016 Team Regina Soccer Training Roster shirt, 2 "team building" activities (exact activities to be confirmed, but looking at possibly a Rider Game and something else like LaserQuest, etc), classroom and field training from the certified coaching staff.  Training roster players will also attend a week long pre-competition "bootcamp" the week prior to the competition.  This bootcamp will include technical sessions on the field, tactical sessions in the classroom and on the field and classroom sessions on various topics from nutrition, mental preparation, goal setting and more.  Current plans are to include lunch for all players and staff during this bootcamp.  The final team roster (Top 18 per team) will recieve a full Team Regina Soccer kit (jersey, shorts, socks), as well as an official Sask Summer Games clothing kit (typically a hat, t-shirt and hoodie) to be worn at the Summer Games.  The final team rosters will travel to the games together (typically by bus) to and from the games, will stay and eat together in the athletes village.  The travel, accomodations and meals are included in the program costs.
