Posted by Brian Smith at Jul 3, 2014 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

The Danville National 11/12s came from behind to defeat Danville American 9-8.  The Nationals fell behind by a 6-1 margin, but clawed their way back into the game and eventually took the lead.  The Americans mounted a rally in the bottom of the 6th, but left the tying and go-ahead runs in scoring position.

The Nationals will face Lynchburg Jefferson in a must-win game Monday at 6:30 pm at Miller Park.

On Tuesday the Danville National team lost Lynchburg Jefferson 15-5.  This sets up a do-or-die showdown between the two Danville teams Wednesday night on Rotary I.  The winner will face Jefferson next Monday at Miller Park for the district title.  The loser hangs up their spikes.  Good luck to both teams!

The Danville American 11/12 All-Stars lost their opening game Friday night by a score of 16-4 to Lynchburg Colonial.

Facing elimination, the Americans defeated Charlotte County 16-5 on Sunday to stay alive.

On Monday night at Dan Daniel, the Americans faced the same Colonial team from the previous Friday.  This time the good guys prevailed, coming from behind for the 6-5 win.  The defeat eliminates Colonial, and the Americans await the loser of Tuesday's showdown between Lynchburg Jefferson and Danville National.
