Information regarding up coming season and the Rep Program.

I am receiving a lot of questions about the upcoming season and what’s happening with respect to zones teams, or no zones teams? And what does that mean for the Tyees? I’ll try to clear up what’s happened.

There has been two different zone program proposals one by BC hockey and one by VIAHA, both of which have been voted down. This means there will be no zone program running within VIAHA this year. In saying that, BC Hockey has agreed to let kids wanting to play Tier 1 hockey (our Tyee program is currently Tier 2) to cross the ‘borders’. Should players want to try out for a Tier 1 team, Comox is our Tier 1 association option. Information on how to try out in the Comox Valley is available on our website – deadline to sign up is July 24th!

CRMHA will be operating our representative Tyee program as per usual. We have selected coaches and are in the planning stages to bring a high caliber program. We plan on having competitive teams in each division atom through to midget.

CRMHA Tyee Rep Tryouts will run Sept 4th-9th.

If you still have questions feel free to ask.
