This weekend all 4 active teams went to the same Ed Keene Memorial Tournament in Plainville MA. This is another NSA Tournament that uses a no new inning after 90 minute format so the girls get to play more than the USSSA or USA 75 minute format.
10-U, a rough but very productive weekend started with a 5-3 loss to a talented and disciplined South Coast Chaos. A quick change of venues and back on the field for a 10-1 loss tot he R.I, Rampage followed by a 5-1 loss to the Rangers. The 0-3 pool play saddled us with the B4 seeding and an elimination game vs the A1 seeded East Coast Lady Sting where the team went down in a 5-3 defeat. The 0-4 record defies the steps forward and the increased competitiveness of the team as a whole.
12-U Teal, started off with a 11-5 victory over the NE Shockwave followed immediately with a second 11-5 win over the Bay State Blaze. A single game slot break and them a 13-1 loss to the Mass Drifters, a very professional and disciplined team, The 2-1 pool play record earned the team the #6 seed for Sunday’s elimination rounds where they would play the winner of the #11 vs #14 seeds. The squad faced the host team K.P. Pride Green and in a tighter match than the score reveals they were victorious 10-3. This set up a quarterfinal game vs the #3 seeded Mass Dynamites who, after a close and spirited start ran away with a 15-5 defeat over Teal. Teal had some significant firsts in their third outing. 1st two win Saturday, 1st Sunday win, and 1st winning weekend (3-2). The journey begins.
12-U White, started off where they left off the past two weekends, a 7-3 win over the Polar Crush followed by a 13-1 run rule game over the South Coast Scream and after a break pool play finished with a 5-4 victory over Raiders Softball. The 3-0 record earned White the #4 seed and a later start on Sunday. Elimination rounds began with a 5-3 victory over the Walpole Crush followed by a semi-final 8-6 loss to the Mass Drifters. A good 4-1 showing for the weekend.
14-U Black, began Saturday with a 7-1 victory over the NE Storm before some hometown cooking favored each opponent going forward. The second game was a tough 5-4 loss to Raiders Softball followed by a slightly bizarre 8-2 loss tot he Bombers Elite. The 1-2 record earn the team the #9 seed and a match with the #8 seeded host KP Pride. The good guys went down 12-5 and ended the weekend with a very rare 1-3 record.
