2017 OPENING DAY IS HERE !!!!

SKLL will hold its 66th Opening Day Ceremony on Saturday April 29th at Tuckertown Park.
Please join us for all the fun and games (see below or download our flyer). The SK Parks and Recreation will also hold the MLB Pitch Hit and Run contest for baseball and softball players. Please click here (on page 19) for more information.

Softball Player Evaluations

The South Kingstown Little League will be holding softball player evaluations on Sunday, March 25th starting at 12:00 noon at the Broad Rock Middle School Gym (entry from the back of the building).

All 9, 10, 11, and 12 year olds rgistered for Majors and not currently playing on a Major League team must attend.
Someone will email you with more information. If you have any questions please contact the softball coordinator.

Softball teams will be formed soon after the player evaluations, and teams should start practicing in the first week of April.

 


On Saturday and Sunday, March 18 and 18th, the Warwick location of DICK’s Sporting Goods will be hosting the annual South Kingstown Little League Discount Day to assist families and players with preparing for the upcoming season. Any SKLL particpant can print out the attached flyer that will enable you to receive 20% off your ENTIRE purchase (some exclusion apply) on Saturday, March 18th. This is a great opportunity to not only get 20% off all of your necessary baseball/softball equipment but you can also get 20% off that kayak or treadmill you have had your eye on.

Simply print off the attached 20% Off flyer and bring it with you to the DICK's Sporting Goods on 1350 East Bald Hill Road in Warwick.


 

SKLL is offering Coaching Clinics on 2 days at The Prout School gym.
Sunday March 19th at 10:30 is oriented toward the majors, Juniors, and Seniors divisions of baseball and softball.
Sunday April 9th at 11:00 is oriented towards the T-ball, Instructional, and Minors divisions of baseball and softball.
You may attend both sessions. 

SKLL will offer a First Aid class to managers and coaches, as part of Little League's regulation that every team have at least one coach that is certified in these skills.

April 5th - First Aid  at 6:00pm at the Union Fire District Office (Asa Pond Rd).

Please carefully read the following information regarding the upcoming Majors and Minors Baseball Player Evaluations. Someone will contact you with a specific time.

South Kingstown Little League Evaluations for baseball players ages 8 and up will be held on Saturday, March 11th from 9:00 -3:00 pm at the URI Batting Barn- 1 Keaney Road Kingston, RI 02881. The evaluation process takes about half an hour.
***Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time to check in and receive your instructions.***

Evaluations will be held for the following divisions and age groups:

Major League Division: Evaluations only for those who did NOT play Majors in Spring 2016

  • 12 year olds - Mandatory for this age group starting at 9:30 am 
  • 11 & 10 year olds - Starting at 10:00 am until 12:00 noon

Eligible players who do not attend Majors evaluations will not be eligible for the Major League draft.
Also, please be aware that the registration deadline for Majors is March 10th. Any player who is not registered by that date cannot play in Majors. If you have not yet registered, you must do so online at skll.org prior to March 4th.

Minors Division: Evaluations for all Minors players

  • All 10 & 11 year olds - Mandatory for this age group starting at 12:15 pm
  • 8 & 9 year olds- starting at 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm 

MAKE UP EVALUATIONS will be held on Monday March 13 at 6:00 pm at the same location.  

 SOFTBALL PLAYER EVALUATION WILL OCCUR ON MARCH 25 FROM NOON UNTIL 3PM AT THE BROADROCK SCHOOL GYM. PLEASE LOOK FOR THE NOTICE.
