As most of you have heard the Governor has approved non-contact sports to resume May 26th and the Ohio Department of Health has published very specific guidelines for all to follow. The Guidelines are attached below and can also be found on our documents page.

* On this basis, STBA has decided to resume our season June 1st with practices and June 15th for games. This will be for Baseball only. Softball will begin practicing in June but will not play games until August.*

STBA understands any parents that have decided not to participate this season and we will be establishing a method to apply for a refund for this season. This should be ready in the next week or so and will be conducted on-line with a method for parents to apply for the refund. As soon as this is finalized I will advise all as to the procedure to secure a refund.
In order to finalize uniforms and other issues STBA will be asking managers to make one more round of calls to parents prior to Sunday at 6:00 PM. At that point we will proceed with a final headcount. Our goal will be to have every child that wants to play be on a team and this might involve some shuffling of teams from their original rosters.
With these being difficult times, STBA is appreciative of our community support we have received and will continue to put our families and community’s safety first as we strive to provide activities to get through these times.

The STBA board recently reviewed the covid-19 situation and our postponed baseball and softball season. With the safety and well-being of everyone in our community our priority, we wanted to provide this update regarding our season.
STBA has determined to stay in agreement with our Governor and the Nation Little League Organization, which have left open the opportunity to have a season sometime between now and the fall. The options that were approved range from starting in the middle of May to starting in the beginning of August . We believe for now keeping our season postponed remains the safest approach for our players, coaches, parents, and volunteers. As Springfield remains a passionate Baseball and Softball community, STBA strives to reflect this passion with our decisions which prioritize our families and communities safety first.

The league presidents of the community baseball leagues we participate with will be meeting Saturday to discuss options for the 2020 season. STBA will be able to update the league about the season in the near future. We hope all of our STBA families are staying safe and healthy.
