News and Announcements

The meet this weekend will be at Laporte High school Natatorium, The address is 301 E. Fairmont Parkway Laporte 77571. Please plan to be at the school no later than 6:45. If you are running later than 6:45am please text Coach Fanning. The other team has asked that we set up tent areas in the grassy areas around the natatorium but do not set up on the sidewalk to the right side of the pool when looking at it. This will be the ready area. Please bring your best attitude and plan for a great day.

It’s time to commit to the June 8th meet. Please log in to the Parent Portal and tell us whether your child is planning to attend or not. This is not an option.
We had 4 children scratch the first meet, 2 show up late without texting, and 2 leave early without letting us know in advance. Please remember that communication is the key. If you are running late, text Coach Fanning. If you are not going to make it to the meet, PLEASE let us know as soon as possible. If you have to leave early, let Coach Fanning know in advance so that you are not put into the last relay. Please check in with your coach prior to leaving the meet in case your swimmer is needed to fill in on a relay.

Everyone on the team needs to clean up there area outside the pool. Custodian services cost our team $35 an hour. Currently we do not pay this because we have always been a team that takes care of the school property. Let’s continue to be this way. It helps keep our cost down.

Remember, no one is allowed on the tennis courts, baseball field or any other areas during the meet.

Parents it is your responsibility to get your swimmer to the ready area ON TIME. We should not have to come looking for them or call them by name. Encourage your child to sit still and be patient while they wait. Some of our children are roughhousing during this time. If you are good at organization and controlling small children we could use your help in this area.

If your child is put into an event they are uncertain about, tell them to just do their best. Sometimes we are trying to see what the coaches need to work on. Improving their personal times are more important than winning.

June 3rd will begin our Summer Practice Times

High School Swimmers and Incoming 7th and 8th Graders are invited and strongly encouraged to attend the morning practices. This will be a more intensive practice. Morning practices will be from 7:00-9:00 am.

All other Swimmers will still attend evening practices from 5:00-6:00 pm or 6:00-7:00 pm

All Buccaneers On-Deck

We need all Buccaneers registered for the first swim meet. We also need all parents signed up to volunteer for the meet. With the new software it might take more people than normal to make sure the first meet runs smoothly. Sign up today to swim and volunteer. Plan to be at the Sterling Natatorium by 6:45am. Look for Coach Fanning to circle in. Anyone not able to be at the pool by 6:45 needs to text Coach Fanning and let him know or you will be scratched from the meet. Once scratched we cannot put you back into the meet. Parking will be limited due to graduation. Please limit the number of vehicles your family brings to this meet. We are only allowed to park in the first row in front of the Winnie Brown Gym. If possible save as many of these spots for the other team. There is parking on the other side of Baker Rd in the shopping center.
